Shashlik A Russian cuisine
I had been craving since around 2 weeks ago, since read yahoo article about few historical restaurant. So last sunday i decided to go and give a try. After successfully drag my friend i went there. The funny thing was i didn't know there are 2 different building. Far East Plaza and Far East Shopping Center.
After got lost to 6th floor Far East Plaza and being laughed by the guard uncle there, at last we walk towards the correct place. Luckily my friend not in hungry mode on, fuih can't imagine being scolded.
I read from one of the blog saying that the restaurant has funny smell, at first i can't imagine but after went by myself i knew what smell is that. Feel like go to sheep farm ha..ha..ha...
This time i had i good preparation, i knew what to eat based on many people recommendation. So without choose too long i decided to order borsch soup, beef shashlik well done and baked alaska.
While waiting i took some snap he..he..he.. Actually i rather afraid to do that, what people say about the service there is all true, i almost scared to take photo, but after a while i think they're ok :).
After a very while.. he..he.. they served quite fast ^^ came my borsch soup.
Borsch Soup
It's consist of my favorite vegetable, cabbage, potato, carrots and a piece of meat. Hmm i love the soup, a bit sourly like tomato soup but with a rich taste from sour cream.
After half finished the soup they server the beef shashlik with the salad, it so smokey, because they served with a real hot hotplate
Beef Shashlik
Russian Salad
I think i should order medium instead of well done, hmmm it's a bit hard and the funny things was, there's no sauce on the beef shashlik like people said. It had some taste but for my insensitive tongue i need to add some chili sauce. Lucky they had my favorite chili sauce ^^. And the salad ha..ha..ha.. i never see a spring onion, onion and papaya on salad. But those had some good taste though.
I finished eat quite fast because i couldn't wait longer for the Baked Alaska, i really curious. After waited for some times they served the Baked Alaska, it's so cute, and by the way the auntie is kind hearted also, she knew i want to take photo so she asked whether we want to let her cut or cut our self, off course i want to cut myself he ... he.. he..
She put on the table, and give me sometimes took photo before she burned the Baked Alaska.
Here we go:
Baked Alaska
Burning Baked Alaska
Half Finished Baked Alaska
Hmmm how it taste? It have some crunchy taste from the burned cream and cake, have some liquor taste and its ice cream smooth and soft, it's really something special, even though a bit too sweat for me ^^.
After struggling finishing the Baked Alaska, it was time to pay he he he.
The Price
Baked Alaska 16$
Beef Shashlik 25$
Borsch 7$
Quite pricey though.
The service:
Somehow they are good with their own way he he he but really reminds me on the nice uncle in Green View Restaurant PJ ^^

Udders
Udders
I actually didn;t know what udders meant before i came here. Continue after Grandma's, we came here to test their ice cream. he..he..he.. it took us almost 15 minutes to watch people how to order..
By the end still order wrongly. They have a number of variety ice cream , but the best is they have various liquor topping for their ice cream. My friend ordered Wild Berry liquor ice cream, which already had mixed with liquor, while i ordered Ballsy Mints with Shirley Temple topping.
Hmmm their ice cream really brought satisfaction.
P.S They have some funny cartoon stories on their tables..... :)

Grandma's Restaurant
Grandma's Restaurant @United Square Novena
This Sunday out of the blue my friend asked me go out and have some ice cream in Novena area.... I don't want to loose the chance of my weekend feast, so we looked around to find a proper meal at the end i decided to eat @ Grandma Place after few times change mind.
Table interior
At first i want to have beef rendang but since i also want to try their chicken dish at the end i found the perfect choice. Nasi Bukhari which have beef rendang, friend chicken and also a small amount of prawn rujak... perfect. To have some greeny leaves at my menu, i ordered kangkong balacan, while my friend ordered cendol ice.

Kangkong Balacan
Ice cendol
The service
Generally the service is ok, the give generous amount of plain water, until my friend suspected we would need to pay for it. But it isn't.
And they also didn;t forget to give half rice as requested.
The price
Nasi Bukhari cost me around 17 dollars, and i'm quite forgot bout the rest but i think around 6-7 dollars for the kangkong and abour 5 for cendol. But i think for Bukhari it's really worth it.

I Luv Curry
At last i tried this restaurant.... surprisingly, it's beyond expectation. There were few times i almost visit this restaurant at usual on weekend, but always change my mind. The reason is during weekend almost no customer inside the restaurant hmmmmm. Yesterday i felt like eating western food, steak. But thinking about the smell left on my shirt, i changed my mine, and this restaurant seem appealing because it's quite as usual ^^.
So i went in and ordered to cashier, their style remind me on KFC during my childhood, queue on 1 line, and beside cashier there are glass rack but i saw nothing other than curry sauce.
I was waiting for sometimes while the cashier served another customer. It gave me sometimes to make up my mind.
The menu
They have chicken, beef, fish and vegetables curry, i go for Beef burger curry rice set (miso soup, soft drink and coffee/green tea jelly) and additional side dish, i chose coffee jelly and decided to order coffee, my first cup on that day :). They served my coffee jelly on the spot and added some milk/butter, couldn't recognize it well.
Coffee Jelly
Hmmmm it taste nice..., coffee smell and a bit salty taste from it's sauce.
After a while they served the tamago wafu salad, and once again i was surprised, it's tasty, with it sour taste, this salad made for a good appetizer.
Tamago Wafu Salad
I a bit stunned when they served the coffee, it's look like tea... and definitely coffee is not their expertise.
Coffee
At that time i was very eager to taste the curry rice, to confirm my thought that it suppose taste bad as it's always look so quite. So when the curry rice came, i can't help myself to give a taste even before i took photo. And.... it surprised me again, it taste not too far from the original curry rice in Japan hmmmm....
Beef burger curry rice
The Service
They really know who to serve customers well, i asked for less sugar in my coffee, they did and they did ask as well.
The price
Beef Burger curry rice + miso + soft drink 8.8, 1.8 for Tamago Wafu Salad, 1.5 for the coffee and free complimentary for coffee jelly. Others menu should have cheaper than beef.
Come, visit and try, you won't regret it.

Germany cuisine @brotzeit
I had been eying this restaurant since last year in Vivocity, but have no chance to visit until last week.
I went for early morning Sunday movie and it ended around 1 PM, look around to have my lunch around Somerset 313, i always think a lot of nice restaurant in 313 but the only restaurant i tried before is Marche, so that day i decided to try brotzeit (after search their menu from net on the day before).
For some people, i think it's a bit too early to visit for this kind of restaurant (they serve a lot of variety beer), so it's a bit empty. I sat somewhere open air facing pedestrian.
The menu
They have variety kind of sausage but i decided to go for pork knuckle, i want to try pork knuckle since February but have no courage. So i ordered beef goulash soup, pork knuckle and coffee.
The waitress look a bit wary on me, i was thinking back then whether i ordered too much, but i already checked on their menu, it suppose not too much. They asked me whether i want all serve together, i asked for soup come first.
Goulash soup come, i was shock... it's portion of noodle soup (1 big bowl), instead of normal western cream soup. Goulash soup taste very nice, it taste like tomato soup but spicy. They give generous amount of beef cubes. It comes with 2 slices of wheat bread.
Beef Goulash Soup
After i finished my Goulash soup, they served the Pork knuckle, and i almost chocked, this can't be true, in their menu the pork knuckle look like just a bit bigger from the chicken drummed, but this one look as big as half turkey..... Now i know why the waitress look amaze when i ordered...
Well anyway Bon Appetite... They cooked it well, crispy from outside, juicy from inside, it had no porky smell, not too much fatty on it. They served it with mash potato, some preserve vegetables, pickles, fresh tomato and fresh spinach. Their mash potato have some sour taste, so generally the side dish were sour, while their tomato is surprisingly sweet.
Pork Knuckle
While for the coffee, it's strong and i like it.
Coffee
The Service
Their service is excellent, referring to my attire that day, i was look like want to go to 'pasar malam' and they still serve me well.
The Price
The damage on my wallet because of this lunch is around 60, can't remember exact figure.
I still want to visit this restaurant again someday to try their beer and sausage :)
Italian cuisine @Amici
Hmmm... after long time ignoring my crave on something new, this weekend i decided to move and look for a good food.
I had heard about Holland Village for quite sometimes but never really think to go there. So 3 weeks ago i went there, with some guidance from ladyironchef blog.
After i reached there i a bit stunned, it's quite a different as my thought. I expected a place full of streets food but instead i found a street full of restaurant. After walk from end to end, and considering between Lebanese and Italian food, i decided to go Amici due to credit card promotion they offered.
When i was waiting at the small door, the waitress come and asked for my reservation which i didn't do. Then, they offered me a table @ balcony or open air facing road side. Considering their balcony is like a small space about 1m square, i took the table facing road side.
The menu
They have some variety of pasta, salad, antipasti, soup , coffee and wines.
I decided to have Lobster Bisque, Pasta with Squid's Ink and Fried Cod and 1 cup of cappuccino.
They served cappuccino first, nothing special about it.
Next they served Lobster Bisque... hmmm.... since this is my first time taste Lobster Bisque i have no comparison but it taste nice.. a sour and little spice taste and fresh lobster.
After wait quite long (long enough to finish half of the Lobster Bisque) they served the pasta. I taste it and a bit dissapointed, after taste their Lobster Bisque actually i hope same quality from their pasta but the pasta just taste normal almost plain. They gave a generous numbers of squid slices and 3 slices of fried cod. The ingredients are fresh.
The Service
This restaurant service is quite good until the time i asked for Tabasco, i had to ask for 3 times and wait for around 10 minutes to get it. Generally is not too bad maybe they a bit busy that night.
The Price
Total Price for all is around 62, but after discount from one Credit Card it become around 48.
