Shashlik A Russian cuisine

I had been craving since around 2 weeks ago, since read yahoo article about few historical restaurant. So last sunday i decided to go and give a try. After successfully drag my friend i went there. The funny thing was i didn't know there are 2 different building. Far East Plaza and Far East Shopping Center.

After got lost to 6th floor Far East Plaza and being laughed by the guard uncle there, at last we walk towards the correct place. Luckily my friend not in hungry mode on, fuih can't imagine being scolded.

I read from one of the blog saying that the restaurant has funny smell, at first i can't imagine but after went by myself i knew what smell is that. Feel like go to sheep farm ha..ha..ha...

This time i had i good preparation, i knew what to eat based on many people recommendation. So without choose too long i decided to order borsch soup, beef shashlik well done and baked alaska.

While waiting i took some snap he..he..he.. Actually i rather afraid to do that, what people say about the service there is all true, i almost scared to take photo, but after a while i think they're ok :).

After a very while.. he..he.. they served quite fast ^^ came my borsch soup.

Borsch Soup
It's consist of my favorite vegetable, cabbage, potato, carrots and a piece of meat. Hmm i love the soup, a bit sourly like tomato soup but with a rich taste from sour cream.

After half finished the soup they server the beef shashlik with the salad, it so smokey, because they served with a real hot hotplate

Beef Shashlik

Russian Salad

I think i should order medium instead of well done, hmmm it's a bit hard and the funny things was, there's no sauce on the beef shashlik like people said. It had some taste but for my insensitive tongue i need to add some chili sauce. Lucky they had my favorite chili sauce ^^. And the salad ha..ha..ha.. i never see a spring onion, onion and papaya on salad. But those had some good taste though.

I finished eat quite fast because i couldn't wait longer for the Baked Alaska, i really curious. After waited for some times they served the Baked Alaska, it's so cute, and by the way the auntie is kind hearted also, she knew i want to take photo so she asked whether we want to let her cut or cut our self, off course i want to cut myself he ... he.. he..
She put on the table, and give me sometimes took photo before she burned the Baked Alaska.

Here we go:

Baked Alaska

Burning Baked Alaska

Half Finished Baked Alaska

Hmmm how it taste? It have some crunchy taste from the burned cream and cake, have some liquor taste and its ice cream smooth and soft, it's really something special, even though a bit too sweat for me ^^.

After struggling finishing the Baked Alaska, it was time to pay he he he.

The Price
Baked Alaska 16$
Beef Shashlik 25$
Borsch 7$
Quite pricey though.

The service:
Somehow they are good with their own way he he he but really reminds me on the nice uncle in Green View Restaurant PJ ^^
